Job Description

Position Summary:

As an AWS Automation specialist, you will implement and manage continuous delivery methodologies and components leveraging AWS services. You will be responsible for the implementation and automation of security controls, compliance validation, and application releases. Key technologies will include AWS, Jenkins, Docker, and Ansible.

The Automation Specialist will supervise and manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems, which are highly available, scalable, and resilient. This role requires experience in planning and monitoring the optimizing of system operation, deploying monitoring and logging systems, automating operational processes to support business systems.

Specific Skills:


  • System administration experience with an understanding of sysadmin scripting
  • Understanding and experience with AWS deployments
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification


  • Expertise with configuration management products such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible
  • Familiarity with software development best practices such as code repositories (ie Git, SVN, CVS), build Servers (ie Jenkins, TravisCI), and software package management
  • Familiarity with Jenkins build pipelines and release management automation practices
  • Experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes
  • Building and deploying application with Docker

General Requirements:

  • College Degree (BS, BA) in Computer Science or Information Technology related field
  • +3 years in operations and systems engineering (Linux, Windows)
  • Experience working with clients to understand & analyze business needs and map them against core technology features to identify candidate solutions
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills; strong problem identification and problem solving skills
  • Strong writing skills that lead to clear, concise, and unambiguous technical and non-technical documentation
